Growing up I wasn’t a traditional athlete. I was into sports like skateboarding, rollerblading, dirt biking and BMX. Out of high school I stumbled upon weight training through a friend’s father. This was the 1st time I felt like “one of the guys”. After four years of hard work, I decided to do my first bodybuilding show, and I was hooked! I felt like I found my niche! As the sport of powerlifting gets more and more popular, the thing that I've heard repeated a lot from physique athletes and your “everyday person” is, "that's great and all, and I wish I could do that, but won’t it make me bulky?" or, "…don’t you have to be big to do that?". The answer is a resounding NO!
